High Performance Solar Thermoelectric Generator Using Asymmetrical Variable Leg Geometries

This paper presents a computational study of the combined effects variable geometry and asymmetry in legs thermocouples thermoelectric modules used solar generators (STEGs). Six different models were considered for each module, namely: rectangular-rectangular legs, rectangular-trapezoidal rectangular-X trapezoidal-trapezoidal trapezoidal-X X-X legs. Simulations six under same heat flux was carried out ANSYS 2020 R2 software. Temperature voltage distributions obtained model results indicate significant variations due to utilization varying leg geometries. Results show that module generated highest temperature gradient electric voltage. In comparison, 297 K 16 V, respectively achieved with as against 182 8.4 respectively, conventional rectangular module. suggests 63.2% 90.5% increase TE Therefore, this demonstrates X gives best performance STEGs.
